When highly acclaimed photographer Scott Gilbert (www.scottsofcambridge.co.uk) was looking to frame a centrepiece image for an up and coming exhibition, he turned to Florentine Designs and The Bespoke Framing Workshop in Ely.
As can be seen from the image, the bride has been placed in front of the utilitarian setting of the door and the old brick building. Scott was anxious to frame such a stunning image in a style to both compliment the theme and to do the image justice.
Working closely with Florentine Designs, it was decided not to mount the image in the traditional way, but instead to place the image in an inner frame to create the negative space between the image and the outer frame.
Then rather than complicate or compete with the image, it was decided to hand finish the frame in a neutral colour and to distress the hand limed finish. To bring out the natural beauty of the wood chosen for the frame, it was polished with a satin wax.
